A LITTLE ABOUT ME.. NANCY MINNEY

I live in Whittier, Califorina with my husband Randy, and our two teenage children; Jeremy and Randi. We also have two older daughters. Michelle, who's married to Russell with our three Grandchildren Brittney, Brooke and Zachary. AND Carolynn who is married to Bob with our two Grandchildren Travis and Samantha.

In April 2000, after an emergency C-Section, my Grandson Travis was born. Since that time, I believe God has blessed me with a gift. writing songs for the Lord. The first song I wrote was "He Answered My Prayer."
He not only gives me the words, but also the melodies, at the same time.

I have been praying for the Lord's will and asking for His guidance, as I would love to witness for the Lord, through my songs. He has blessed me with several songs, and I believe He's calling on me to share my songs with others.

My brother John, recently blessed me with a high-tech recorder (that my son is teaching me to use). I would love to share my music with everyone, everywhere. I record my songs in our garage, then Jeremy puts them into a computer program. My Cd is far from professional, there isn't any backup music, so it's totally acappella, but I promise you it is truly from my heart. One day, God willing, I'll be able to record with a little soft guitar in the background.

One of my first songs, "Angels" was recorded with my granddaughter Brookie, who was only 3 ½ at the time. If you have grandchildren, you'll understand why this song is so precious to me. Another one of my favorites, "Jesus Knows," was written and dedicated to Jeremy Glick (the young man on Flight 93, who called his wife and family from the airplane) and the thousands of others who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, the day America stood still and watched the horror unfold. .

MY TESTIMONY

When my Mom died in April of '99, little did she know that through her death, she would leave behind for her daughter Nancy, the greatest gift of them all... my salvation!
Everyone, who knew my Mom, knew of her love for Jesus Christ. Her faith was so great, and her personal relationship with the Lord was so very wonderful.
I didn't realize just how dependent I was on my Mom, until she was gone.
I had not only lost my Mother, but there was someone else definitely missing from my life.
At our family Christmas party in December of '99, I shared my personal testimony, entitled "Someone's Missing!"

A COUPLE OF VERSES FROM MY LATEST SONG.

I wanted to share a couple of verses from one of my latest songs.
It was my last day to take care of the grandkids, as Michelle is a teacher, so we both get the summers off.
This particular day she picked up the kids, to take them out to lunch.
With house unusually quiet, I switched the TV from a children's program, to another station.
The program I started to watch was about a young teenage girl who was stricken with a debilitating disease her last year of high school.
I believe the show caught my attention, because the young girl reminded me so much of my own daughter, Randi. Both with blonde hair, blue eyes, very pretty and a smile so bright, it would light up a dark room.

The details of the show inspired the song, which I'm about to share with you. Needless to say, by the time the program was over, I was in tears and my heart was breaking for this your girl, someone I didn't even know.
As I started to pray for her, I started to think of all the people in the world that must also be suffering at that very moment.

I reached for my pen and paper, and have to tell you this song came within a few minutes. I was writing so fast and sloppy, and humming a melody at the same time. I remember praying that I'd be able to decipher the song when I was finished. With God's grace, I did!
I will never forget her sweet face, and I still pray for this young girl, & everyone, everywhere!

When Michelle came in the door a few minutes later, I shared the words with her. Between the hugs and the tears of joy, we both knew how very special this song, that the Lord had given to me, really was!
It wasn't until I read it back, that I realized my prayers had been answered, through His very own words....

How do I pray for the people I don't know
How do I help to heal the broken hearted
How do I comfort the ones who are suffering
Teach me Jesus, how to pray for everyone

How can I tell them "Jesus loves you"
There is a hope and a peace that can be found
How can I spread Your Holy, Holy word
Jesus whispered tenderly, "through your songs"

God Bless everyone of you..
Nancy
